Linda Etcoff trained at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA. Currently, her primary focus is developing large scale drawings of botanicals. This endeavor combines the powers of direct observation, rendering botanicals through close examination of their structure and form while arranging them in a constructed illusionist space. Within the process of developing a panel, flower by flower, a growing relationship between object and space allows Etcoff a glimpse into the nature and meaning of her subject previously unknown to her.
Etcoff’s early exhibitions were primarily in New York and Boston. This established her reputation as an artist. Her work is represented in the permanent collections of the Rose Art Museum, The DeCordova Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and many other private and corporate collections.
Linda has received a number of grants and awards including the Mass Cultural Council Grant for painting and for drawing, a Blanche Colman Award, and the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, A.R.T.
