Since childhood, Wirhun has practiced pysanky, the traditional Ukrainian art of eggshell writing, learned from his mother — a lifelong foundation that continues to shape his work today. Building on this heritage, he has expanded the ancient craft through innovative dyeing, brushwork, and etching techniques, developing a visual language uniquely his own on the eggshell's organic form. His process also draws on the studio practice of reconstructing broken eggshell fragments into new compositions, transforming discarded material into new imagery and worldviews.
